Dakota, the most popular aircraft in aviation history

Dakota was the most famous, most durable and probably most beloved aircraft in the history of aviation. Air Forces of almost every country in the world flew this aircraft. It is credited with some astounding performances. It was designed to carry 32 passangers, but on at least one occasion, during evacuation of refugees in World War II in Burma, it took off with 73 people and landed with 74, a baby was born enroute! After a forced landing on sea, a Dakota floated for 30 minutes!
