My favorite aircraft - Dakota or DC-3

DC-3, C-47, C-53, R4D, Li-2, Showa L2D are different names of the same aircraft popularly known as Dakota by English and Goony Bird by Americans. It first flew on 17 Dec 1935; some of them still continue to fly! It was one of the most successful design. Douglas company produced 10,655 Dakotas and about 2500 were manufactured by Russia and Japan under license. Second World War's Supreme Commander of Allied Forces General Eisenhower called it the most important factor in Allied win over the axis forces.
